Yes, we have two of the most common spare parts that are needed for original ashtray restorations-rivet style knobs and ash boxes. Original rivet knobs are destructively damaged during the restoration disassembly and require modification to reuse, most commonly by drilling and tapping for a #4 screw to reassemble. We offer identical, original rivet style knobs that can make your restoration authentic. Since ash boxes are easily removed, they are often missing from original ashtrays, so we offer identically constructed ash boxes that will fit your original ashtray. If you require any of the internal parts or a new face plate, we recommend our very reasonably priced entire A-403300 kit. All of our ashtray parts are completely interchangeable with original ashtrays so you can keep any of your original, reusable parts and just replace the ones that are not. Spare parts are available for purchase under our Product For Sale section.

The 1931 Model A Convertible Sedan (model 400A) was a one-year only model introduced in May 1931 aimed at the wealthy "Four Hundred" class, hence its model identifier. The country was in the midst of the Great Depression and Ford Model A sales were declining, so Ford was targeting affluent people that could still afford to buy a new car. Since it is a mouthful to say Convertible Sedan, it is more commonly referred to by its model number 400A or Model A 400A, which is redundant and often shortened to just A400, which the purist hate...lol! The 400A was the most expensive passenger car at $640 (besides the Town Car) and only 4864 were produced domestically and 5093 total worldwide, making it among the rarest Model A's. The 400A had many opulent luxury features including two side panel mounted ashtrays in the back seat area. Henry Ford was not fond of smoking, but smoking was considered cool and a status symbol for the upper echelon back in the early 1900's so this luxury model came standard with them. Unfortunately for the 400A restorer, these ashtrays are commonly missing, or in rough shape and there was no source to replace them - until now.

Recommended ashtray assembly fixture setup: Small one-ton arbor press, nylon block fixture to support knob and hold inner housing in position and 5mm shelf pin to fit through the access hole and crush the rivet. Apply firm, even pressure and you will feel the knob rivet stem "pop" when it crushes
